TechRig, a prominent technical solutions agency in South Africa, was the main technical contractor for the MTN Tour of Legends held from 16 to 19 August at the Golf & Safari Resort in the Waterberg of Limpopo. The MTN “Tour of Legends’ is an exclusive three day mountain bike tour that guarantees, five star accommodation, exquisite food, the thrilling presence of the big five and last but definitely not least, top class mountain biking.
TechRig together with Advendurance created an atmosphere that made the cyclists enjoy and love the tour. TechRig’s contribution in providing sound, audio visuals, structures and a water-point based on the beautiful extreme 19th golf course; made the event a resounding success.
Advenduarance’s Fritz Pienaar was the project manager while TechRig’s Robert Grobler , Ruan Bezuidenhout and Adriaan van der Walt were responsible for the set design, lighting design and audio respectively.
“The aim of the lighting was create a nice look and feel of the wildlife; we didn’t want the lighting to be too bright,’ said Bezuidenhout the Senior Lighting Technician and Operator at TechRig. “we used 10 X Martin Mac250 wash, 8 X Mac250 Entour, 6 X Mac700 wash, 34 X Verso LED parcans, 12 X Parcan Par 64 and generic lighting units were utilised to create a calm and peaceful atmosphere for the guests.’
The audio at the event was designed to ensure that guests to hear the announcements and performances. To achieve the audio requirements TechRig used 12 X Alcon LR14, 4 X LR14B Line Array Enclosure, ALC 2 & ALC 4, 4 X BF 151 Sub Bass Enclosure, 1 X Yamaha 01V96 mixing console and Shure microphones.
