The luxurious and glamorous Sandton Sun Hotel was the setting for this year’s Spero Villioti Spring/Summer 2013/2014 New Collection launch. In association with the Panathinaiki Women’s Association of South Africa, over 500 esteemed guests were treated to a brilliant display of haute couture.
A delicious ladies’ breakfast was organised at the Sandton Sun Maroela Room and guests had the added pleasure of seeing a polished and high quality fashion show staged by the professional technical team of Strike Productions.
Miss Taryn Louch from Creatte carried out the formalities in a liquid gold Spero Villioti gown and various members of prominent Greek communities and the Panathinaiki, including the Chairlady, Mrs Anna Synodinos, made speeches which provided insight into the charity and fund allocation.
David-John from Make-up International, Estee Lauder and Jeauval Hair all took part in the fundraising campaign.
Spero Villioti is a well known and outstanding designer within the Greek community. He was approached by the Panathinaiki Women’s Association Directors to choreograph a fashion extravaganza to showcase his exquisite gowns at the Panathinaiki’s Annual Charity Fundraiser.
Strike created exceptional lighting to enhance the dramatic and ornamented garments, inspired by all that is luxurious, elegant and sophisticated. Beautiful Spanish laces and hand beaded details with a colour palette of coral, red, black, white and nude needed to be enhanced by subtle lights and sounds. An outstanding ramp and stage were designed and constructed by the Strike team, creating a ‘fashion week’ ambiance.
The event itself raised an excess amount of R90 000 which was donated to various charities by the Panathinaiki Association.
“We are looking forward to working with Strike Productions again on an even more spectacular event at the end of the year,” concludes Spero Villioti.
