Leading Pro-AV manufacturers L-Acoustics, d&b audiotechnik, Meyer Sound, Biamp, AudioScience and Avid, working under the umbrella of the Avnu Alliance, have created a new application protocol solution for AV networking, which will be unveiled at InfoComm 2018, Las Vegas.
Since the 1980s, Ethernet has evolved to become one of the most common standards for connecting everything from computers to industrial equipment, resulting in a vast eco-system of connected technologies. The Avnu Alliance is a consortium of professional, automotive, consumer electronics and industrial manufacturing companies that are collaborating to establish and certify the interoperability of open Audio Video Bridging (AVB) and Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) standards. AVB/TSN is fast becoming the standard architectural platform that allows for the integration of real-time deterministic audio, video and control signals allowing for interoperability between products from different manufacturers and industries.
The Avnu Alliance was officially established in August 2009 and has become the certification organisation that ensures that products from different manufacturers that are built on IEEE standards work together reliably. Avnu Alliance invites companies across the AV industry to participate and collaborate in their efforts to improve audio and video quality across platforms. Their members manufacture a broad array of products, including cars, semiconductors, loudspeakers, consoles and microphones.
AV manufacturers L-Acoustics, d&b audiotechnik, Meyer Sound, Biamp, AudioScience and Avid have been collaborating within the Avnu Alliance for the past 18 months to develop a new application protocol solution for AV networking, which will be showcased at InfoComm in Las Vegas on 6 and 7 June.
