Century City Cape Town’s Canal Walk Shopping Centre required a big installation to illuminate its two prominent glass domes so that they would be visible at night from a distance to prospective visitors.
Sound and Light City Cape Town realised quickly that the only LED fixtures that would be suited to such a huge task would be BriTeq’s LED MegaBeams. After initial tests were conducted, 8 MegaBeams were installed – four at each dome – lighting up the pillars, façade and dome at the top from a distance of 20m.
The on-board programming made it easy for the customer to control the fixtures at a specific speed through various colours at night, creating a lighting effect that is visible from the N1 highway.
